Play: Bunicula

(first term still) Okay since it's Halloween I thought I should analysis something related to that. So I think I'm going to do the play we saw friday night called Bunicula which is about a rabbit that a family discovers at a theater who mysteriously turns vegetables white. So I was going to ask they question of why did I like it, but why not go a little further and ask, Why did I like Chester and Herald? Well Chester is the family's cat played by a women and Herald is the dog played by a man. These guys are mostly our main characters so that may be one reason why I like them since main characters always have to have fun and interesting qualites.

Let's first start by analysing Chester, the cat. As you watched her you grew to like her more and more. This is because of her interestng combination of smart and yet dumb actions. She is hilarious to watch because she varies her voice in that it makes the preformance more entertaining. Her actions are also funny because she was convinced that the rabbit was a vampire so she tried several ideas to nullify the rabbit's actions. In other words she was the perennial schemer of the play. These ideas were funny because some were outragious or just dumb. For example, Herald read from the vampire book that to kill a vampire you need to draw a steak through their heart. Well instead of using what it really ment which was a wooden stick to kill it, she used a piece of meat since it was called a steak. Therefore because she mixed the items up this became funny to watch her try and kill the rabbit since the audience knew she wouldn't be able to do it.

Another thing that made Chester so likeable and funny was her costume, body, and facial expressions. Her costume of course made her look like a cat, but one of the noticable features of it was her hair. The black, poofy hair was perched on her head that it made it very noticable and funny since it was an interesting hair style. She also exagerted her movements in that they were funny. When it was night they would pretend to be asleep. But instead of walking over to their pillows and gently easing themselves down, Chester along with Herald would run over to the pillows, plop down and began to make the most fake and hilarious snoring sounds. These actions are different and because they are different they are funny. Also when it came time to sing, Chester would dance with Herald, and some of the moves they did brought a smile to your face. This was because the moves were interestingly planned, but it was the facial experession that made it even funnier. Herald would sometimes just dance and would move his eyes left and right as Chester danced and moved him around. So you can see why that would appear funny.

Our second main character was Herald, the family dog. He too has several things that make you grow to like him. Herald was the reluctant follower and not too bright. He follwed and assisted Chester's schems but he questioned them because he thought it was not possible that the rabbit was a vampire. This gives the audience the feeling of suspense or that they don't know who they should believe. As a result the audience feels like they have to choose their own views on whether they should go along with Chester or Herald. Another trait that Herald had was his voice since it varied, but it had a different touch to it-his voice could go very high. So it was funny to hear him speak because his voice was funny to hear. Another o that goes along with this is diction. Instead of pronouncing words the normal way, Herald would instead howl them out since they had the same howlish sound and feel. He would also begin to howl when the family was in a loud argument. Hence this created more of a feel that he really was a dog and it also was more pleasurable to watch. Yet I noticed something, from Herald's brown dog like costume and from his hyper personality. It seems like his was trying to portay a hound dog yet if he really was a dog he'd have to be some type of poodle or small dog since he's so hyper.

In conclusion, these two main characters, Chester and Herald compliment eachother. Chester realized that Bunicula had fang like teeth that could suck the juices out of vegetables. But Herald discovered something else about Bunicula that she couldn't believe. Herald found Bunicula was actually a nice rabbit that was just a little strange. These two different views help compliment eachother in the play which helps make it more enjoyable and exciting to watch.

Anime: Mew Mew Power

okay so I first thought of analyzing anime but that is just to broad so I thought I'd actually analyze something a little more specific. First off let's ask the question to what is anime? Well if you remember my previous post I explained it was a type of japanese cartoon, or if you want a deeper explaination here's one from www.m-w.com, "a style of animation originating in Japan that is characterized by stark colorful graphics depicting vibrant characters in action-filled plots often with fantastic or futuristic themes". (aw and don't you just see my beautiful picture on the left? yay!)

So now that you know that let's ask the question of what is Mew Mew Power and what is it about? Mew Mew Power is anime that was originally called Tokyo Mew Mew (manga form) created by Reiko Yoshida that is Shojo or girl oriented. Mew Mew Power is a show about 5 girls who have bonded with the DNA of certain animals like a cat (Zoey), bird (Cornia), wolf (Renee), monkey (Kiki) and lastly a mermaid (Bridget). These 5 girls band together to fight off the aliens that threaten to destory earth.

But why is it so enjoyable to watch? The voice acting and the animation are two key factors because their combined effect help the audience connect to characters and realize their personality. The voice actors do an excellent job in vairying their voices which makes it enjoyable to listen to because they can be quite funny at certain points. Also the different animations for the characters help to discribe their personality to the point that you love the characters.

Another thing is the music which helps contribute to the effect. The lyrics of the opening song and the instruments are so catchy that it just makes you want to sing along and bounce to the music. At least it does for me because I love music therefore I love the opening song.

Lastly, the plot of the show makes it so enjoyable to watch. The show has quite an exciting plot to it that makes you crave for more. Yes the exciting characters mostly contribute to this, but it's their goal to achieve something that makes it so fun to watch. These 5 girls are just pretty ordinary close to high school aged girls that have to deal with saving the world. It's exciting to watch out they conquer evil and deal with life's problems.

Why is Zoey my favorite character? Zoey (refer to picture above) is the main character therefore she has to have some different traits then the other girls that make her in my mind my favorite. Some of these traits are the following: She has a spunky personality that is just so funny to watch. Her Mew transformation outfit is just the cutest but why would I think that? Well I love cats so I would think it's cool that she can transform into a cat/human and have a cute, pink outfit to match. Zoey is also my favorite because she likes one of the most cutest guys on the show, Mark. Yes I could keep telling you about how sweet Mark is, but that would not be analysis now would it, that would be discriptive. (ooh now you can look above and see what he looks like! yay!)

So hopefully you can sort of understand why I like this show so much. One it's the characters and two it's the story plot. (And I'm so totally out of it today, so my writing seems horrible, but ya hopefully you get some point of it)

Gaiaonline the ultimate anime site of happyness

Recently I've been obsesed with a great website on the internet. This website is www.gaiaonline.com But why do I spend so much time on this website? What makes this website so enjoyable? Why? Why? I wonder.............

First I need to explain what gaia online is exactly. Here's gaia's explanation which is on their home page, "The best online hangout is on the world's biggest forum. Dress up your own avatar then chat, roleplay and earn gold through games with thousands of players in an interactive world." You can pretty much infer what this website is about, but I'll explain about it in greater detail and try to answer my own questions.

I spend so much time on gaia because you can chat to people, thereby making more gold. One of the purposes of gaia is to get gold by posting so that you can buy new outfits for your avatar. It takes time to post and gain gold so that's why I'm on gaia so much. Some of the avatar aka avi outfits cost alot of gold, so I have to post to gain that gold. Also you can chat to people on private messages, which is alot like email. These private messages (pm) give you gold as well which helps alot when you're trying to save up for a outfit. Lastly, I just like talking to people since I'm a sociable person. Talking to people doesn't always mean just carrying on a conversations; it can also mean role playing with people. Role playing is basically writing a story with someone and acting it out by typing it. I love role playing because I have so many cool story ideas and it's just fun to write or type it with someone. Role playing is the bomb!! ;)

Gaia online is so much fun because of several reasons. (one of the reaons is the one I listed above) The whole site is based on anime, and even your avatars look like anime characters. This appeals to me because I love anime so much, therefore I love the site since everything is anime! There is a whole forum dedicated to anime where you can basically talk and discuss anime shows or manga (japanese version of the comic book) with anyone. So again I would love this since I always find it fun to find more people who like the same anime shows that I do and discuss it with them.

Another exciting thing is the train station which is a new feature on the Barton Town map. I love this feature, but why might you ask? Well because it's like a game. Your avatar is in 3-d mode so you can move it around in this world and talk to people. It is so fun because you can meet knew people and it's just cool because it's like your avi is in a game. You're avi can also have conversation smiles which are basically smiles that are animated to express an emotion. These are very helpful and fun when trying to express what you're feeling to someone.

Yet there are downsides to gaia. (oooh doesn't that one sentence give you a chill? ;)

At certain times when many users are on the pages will be running very slow. This annoys me and makes me mad because sometimes it gets so bad that I have to close the window and log into Gaia again. This is very annoying because I might be in the middle of a conversation and yet I can't reply. I hate this and I wish it could be fixed but I don't think it will.

Another downside to gaia is, there are many types of people on it. You have to be careful when selecting threads to post on because the threads aren't always clean. People swear and sometimes there are very disturbing topics posted on the chatterbox forum. I hate this because I just wish that people could be clean and nice. They don't need to do stupid things just to get people's attention. Although gaia has instored something where you can block off the swearing. This relives me because I don't like to read swear words.

Overall Gaia online is a pleasent site where you can interact with people, and gain gold to dress your avi up. It is a very injoyable website which I spend alot of time on and I love it! Go Gaiaonline!!!! yay!!!
(and now for my hyperness *jumps up and down* ahhh I'm speaking computer short talk, yes it gets into my head quite alot ; Disregard this last part if you please, I just love this website and I can't stop talking about it but I will stop since I've analyized it)

Movie: Sky High

Okay so I'm really running out of things to analyze, and since I saw this movie for the first time yesterday I thought, might as well do it since I don't know what else to do. Oh and I'm trying new spacing today, yay! Cough, yes enough of that.

So this movie I saw called Sky High; well on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the greatest, I'd give this movie something like a 7. I believe this movie was only around 1 hour and 40 minutes, so why did I give it a 7/10? I shall try to answer this. (muhahahaha, cough, sorry that was just random, and they need to put smiley faces on here so we can express our feelings better instead of doing the usual ;) typing smiley. Cough, I'm not talking about the subject so I will get back to that. hehehe)

Why did I think this movie only deserved a 7? Well there were several reasons. The first reason would probably be that the movie is only 1 hour and 40 minutes. From that information you can guess that the producers were probably having troubles with the plot of the story. Yes I know this is judying a movie before seeing it, but you have to realize something. Usually a shorter movie doesn't have that great of a plot. The producers might have been running out of ideas for the movie so they cut the time back to 1 hour and 40 minutes. Therefore, a movie that has a running time of close to 2 hours or more probably has a better plot, since they needed more time to tell the story.

Besides the running time for this movie, I also thought that the plot of the story was well not as good as it could have been. Why? Let me explain. The movie began fairly well with a nice plot of teenages with powers going to a special high school to learn how to become heros, but then it got weirder. Close to the end we find out that the villian's scheme was to transform all the faculty and students of Sky High School into babies and raise them up to be villians. Talk about stupid right? This idea was just plain and weird, and not to mention this reminded me of something off of Spy Kids. Yuck. Let's not even go there.

The next thing that made me think this movie deserved a 7 was the heros attire and fighting styles. Some of their costums were big and beefy looking which kind of seemed like they got them from Power Rangers or something. This included the design and colors, red, white, and blue. Now as for their fighting styles this too made me think of Power Rangers with their famous kicks and punches. The actors and produces emphasized their moves so much that it seemed very cheezy and dramatic.

Yet some of the good things were the romance and certain funny parts. The producers had a very good plot line for romance that everyone knows. It's the usual a girl likes a guy yet the guy likes a popular girl. Through his actions our main character, Will Stronghold realizes this new girl (I think her name is Gwen, I can't remember) he likes isn't they type he should be with, and that he has destroyed his relationship with the first girl. In the end he dumps the popular girl and relizes that he actually likes the nice girl. So these two get together and it's a happy ending. (I can't remember the nice girls name since I've only seen this movie once). Also in the movie there were some pretty funny parts like at the ending when the guinea pig chewed through the wires. The acting was done well in these funny parts in that it made you laugh.

Therefore, this movie I saw was pretty good despite it being weird in some parts. So yes I'd see this movie again. Until next time, goodbye.

School year

Okay I was bored and this was the only thing that came to my mind. *cough* anyways um hi. This year at school seems to have gone by smoother for some reason. Not that I'm complaining or anything, but I'm liking Mountain View better this year. Last year was hard because first of all I didn't like splitting schools with my friends. Some of my best friends went to Orem and it devestated me so much that in the first 4 weeks of school, I was depressed. Another thing I hated was Mountain View's apperance. I thought it was so boring with just one long hallway which in my mind reminded me of a prison. Lakeridge's interior looked so much better since it had mazes and not just a hallway.
Another thing that was hard for me at the beginning of the year was that I had decided to take Astronomy with Mr. Clark. His attitude was so different that it scared me in a way. I was just not used to it. In his class we had a test every two days, had to complete the review questions of the chapter, and listen to his lectures. This required a great amount of time and in the end left me very stressed which added to the fact that I disliked MV.
I also had another class with which I wasn't very happy in, honors art with Mr. Laney. Mr. Laney was a nice guy but I just didn't like his way of doing art. He had us draw boring things that weren't very interesting like displays and other boring things. We never really had any good supplies either. The paper was very cheep and we had to go buy our own prisma pencils or other supplies. Just having had Mrs. Hunter, the art teacher at Lakeridge, I was very unhappy. She always had supplies, great paper, and not to mention good chairs. The chairs we used in MV art are stools which hurt my back. Therefore since art and astronomy weren't going well they both added to my dislike of MV.
This year is different.
I've noticed several things like I'm more used to Mountain View and I've gotten over missing my friends from Orem High. I've gotten to the point where I enjoy art again since Mr. Laney has retired and Mrs. Wolf who has replaced him is much better. Also most of my classes this year are easy which helps since I'm not stressed that much. Therefore I have concluded that because I'm more used to MV and since I don't have that very many hard classes, school is much smoother this year because of those reasons.
