Now what should I do?

It's summer now and so I think I may turn this blog into a place where I may experiment with possible story ideas. Here I'll explain the first one. My main character is Cellano and she has enherited (sp) a type of gem stone/necklace. After awhile it begins to act strangly so she leaves the village and goes to the King's village where she learns the history of the gem stones. Sadly she finds out that she needs to find the other gem stones before the mysterious enemy does. These other stones resemble the colors of the rainbow and Cellano must find them and their proper owner before the enemy does. Her best friend Sorano decides to join her in this quest and the king lends them his son Valoeron who doesn't want to go but is forced to. After they reach the borders of the forest the group in ambused by mysterious cloaked men and Cellano is seperated from everyone. She hides and finds an old man living nerby. He invites her in and when he learns of the gem stone Cellano carries he quickly gives her some fighting tips. Soon the men find her and she departes running into Valoeron and then Sorano. The three quickly leave and begin their journey on finding the other gem stones. They meet many others on their quest whom all with help Cellano in finally defeating the greatest enemy of their time.

Yes I know this kind of sounds like Lord of the Rings and well it kind of is, but I've had this story in my head for 4 years now and it needs to be written down. Well hoped you liked the preview.
